Masa is president and representative director of Goldman Sachs Japan Co., Ltd. He is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and co-chair of the Asia Pacific Management Committee. Masa is also a member of the Investment Banking Division (IBD) Asia Executive Committee, IBD Client and Business Standards Committee and the Executive Committee of Goldman Sachs Japan Co., Ltd.

Masa joined Goldman Sachs as an associate in the Corporate Finance Department in 1985. He became a vice president in the Investment Banking Division in 1988; head of the Tokyo Corporate Finance Department in 1989; co- head of the Tokyo Real Estate Department in 1991; co-head of the Investment Banking Division, Tokyo, in 1993; and co-branch manager of Goldman Sachs Japan Co., Ltd. in 1999. Masa became a partner in 1992.

Prior to joining the firm, Masa worked at the Dai-ichi Kangyo Bank, Limited for nine years.
