Mr. Shigefumi Tatsumi is the Vice President and General Manager for the Commercial Airplanes Division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) Mr. Tatsumi began his career in 1981 when he entered MHI Nagoya Aerospace Systems Works, where he worked on aircraft R&D in the Aerodynamics Research Section. He held this position until 1988 when he became Unit Leader of the Wing Aerodynamics Design in F-2 ground-support fighter team.

In 1995, Mr. Tatsumi became Manager of the Commercial Aircraft Designing Section. Mr Tatsumi then moved through various Director roles within MHI, until accepting his current position in April 2012.

Mr. Tatsumi earned a Bachelor of Engineering in 1979, and a Masters of Engineering in 1981, both from Tokyo University.
